while raising children on the Autism Spectrum

Next program starts on Monday 26th October, 2020

This Program Specifically Teaches Parents How To Alleviate The Emotional Overwhelm That Comes With Raising A Child On The Autism Spectrum.

Do you feel like this?

I open my eyes and am filled with instant anxiety.

What is going to happen today?

The only thing that seems predictable is the fact that everything will be unpredictable.

There will be emotional outbursts that I couldn’t anticipate.

There could be highly aggressive behaviours that are dangerous to my child, other people or myself.

There may be arguments and tantrums because I didn’t quite understand something, or because my child couldn’t understand why something wasn’t as expected.

I try to prevent the arguments and the meltdowns.

I try to anticipate the environment but I can't anticipate every trigger.

I’m constantly in surveillance mode - surveying people,  my child's moods, sounds, lighting, other triggering sensory stimulus.  Always looking for a potential threat that could trigger an outburst.

I try to micromanage my environment – constantly trying to control what other people say, what they do, trying to make them understand what is needed here to avoid a meltdown.

It feels like I'm constantly on edge - either in preventing a crisis or managing one.

And other people just don't get it.

They judge me, give me dirty looks, berate me.  People can be so rude.

Even the people who were supposed to support me.

It’s too hard for them so they leave me to deal with everything… I feel totally isolated.

Dealing with this all alone.

I don’t feel like people understand my world, let alone my child’s.

I feel defeated and discouraged.

But then something great will happen.

I will fall in love with the intelligence and beauty of how my child sees the world and for a split second I am reminded by the gift I've been given in raising an autistic child.

I see their beauty.  They show me how beautiful their unique perceptions are.

My heart melts.

But then I’ll quickly be reminded of something else that takes my attention.

I notice another life skill I need to teach or keep working on with my child.

I remember that I have housework to do, chores to complete, appointments to attend, bills to pay, other kids to tend to.

The stressful behaviour returns.

I’ll  have to tend to my other children's behaviour, or realise I’ve not given my other children as much attention as they need.

Am I being enough for them all?

Are they doing okay?  Do they feel loved enough?

Some days, I just don’t feel like I’m ever doing enough.

But I still try. I still have to keep controlling and preventing. I don’t have a choice.

It’s all so exhausting.

Some days I just fall into bed, shattered by the day’s events. I welcome the escape from this chaotic existence as I lay waiting for slumber to wash over me.

But that doesn’t come right away either.

No, the body has stopped, but the brain keeps going.

What would happen if I wasn’t here? How would my child cope?

Who would teach him/her all the things I teach?

Who would take care of him?

And somewhere in all this, there is a little voice whispering in the back of my head.

“What about me? What about my dreams? Where’s my fun?”

But I quickly push that aside. There’s no point. We need some sleep.

Tomorrow is another day and I just need to get some sleep…

Because you know that the night is going to be filled with a whole other tyranny of bedtime antics to deal with….but that’s another element to the story.

Introducing the 8 Week

Online Autism Parental Stress Relief

Program & Support Group

Most parents with autistic children are getting put through the emotional ringer day in and day out, and it takes its toll.

With all the support available to help your function in life and regulate their emotions and behaviours, where are the programs to help you with your emotions and behaviours?

Right here.

This 8 week online program is designed to teach you how to manage the many challenges faced by a parent raising a child with ASD with calm and emotional resilience.

This program is going to take you by the hand and teach you how to feel calm and confident, and how to embrace the challenges you face without anxiety.

With daily lessons and weekly videos, we will teach you how to:

  • Alleviate stress, depression and anxiety in you and your child.
  • Accept and surrender to the highs and lows of an unpredictable parental life.
  • Find your calm regardless of what's going on.
  • Stop personalising your child's behaviour.
  • Train your mind to find the hidden good in the challenging moments and stay positive, even when things seem to be falling apart..
  • Follow a simple 5 step process that you can apply to any stressful situation you face.
  • Become solution focussed and reduce overwhelm as you face the myriad of challenges on a daily basis.
  • Follow a step by step process for understanding your child's behaviour and creating a strong foundation for positive behaviour management.
  • Learn how to deal with aggressive behaviours.
  • Apply mindfulness techniques that will help you and your child stay calm.
  • How to teach your child a healthy mindset and self-esteem that's resilient and confident, and where anxiety can be kept to a minimum.
  • Manage your time more effectively so you can factor in everything you want to do with everything you need to do (yes, that includes time for you!!!)
  • How to find time to yourself and help you to rethink what 'time out' looks like.
  • Repair and maintain healthy relationships with your partner and other children so you feel that everyone is getting their needs met.
  • Ensure that you are parenting with balance and creating a healthy and secure attachment with your child.

What do other Parents of Autistic Kids have to say about how The Parental Stress Centre has helped.

While the 8 week Autism Parental Stress Relief Program is brand new, our teachings and our experience working with parents with children on the autism spectrum, is not new.

Take a look at what mum, Kelly, had to say about how our programs helped her...

Kelly Wood

Mother of Two with  Autism

"I felt like I had no purpose and felt like I was failing all the time."

I had been watching Jackie’s FB page for a while and getting a feel for her and her style and her no judgement approach and that really resonated with me.  I really needed someone who understood where I was coming from without judging as I felt like I was failing.

[The Program] .. allowed me to understand where I could make small changes to make our whole lives happier, how I could be happier, how I could rethink the scenarios that were going on in my house, to step outside how I thought about how they were going, to what was really going on and how we could work with a reality focussed solution.

We started to see results pretty quick. I started to just relax and be able to enjoy my children for the first time in a little while.  People started to comment on our child's behaviour being better. That was a real plus...A real plus.

I guess for me it was part of a whole, but a real saving grace, something that came out, is that I could be honest and have people around me that weren’t judgemental and weren’t telling me that I was doing everything wrong and that it had to be all my fault.

So I’m very grateful to Jackie for helping us through that and I’ve been very grateful for being part of the community that it brings you into afterwards.

What will I learn over the
8 weeks?

Here is an overview of what you'll be learning over the course of the program.

Week One:  Why do I keep getting triggered?

"I shouldn't get so angry.  I know my child can't help what they're doing."

This is the catch cry of many parents raising a child with special needs.  This first module helps you make sense of stress, depression and anxiety can why you get reactive, even though you know not to.

In this module you'll learn:

  • The four specific thinking lenses (viewpoints) we look through that trigger stressful emotions and lead to depression and/or anxiety.

  • To let go of perfectionism and pressure to get everything right (even your child's life).

  • Understand more about the mindset behind common overwhelming emotions

  • How to prevent angry outbursts with your children.

Week Two:  How do I accept my reality and stay calm?

This second week helps you to begin changing your mindset when faced with the challenges of family life with an autistic child, so that overwhelm doesn't become your default.

In this module you'll learn:

  • Increase your distress tolerance & learn flexibility when things don’t go to plan or your children are not co-operating.
  • Learn how to find the hidden good in the bad.
  • Apply the 5 step TRACK Process to you and your life
  • Apply the 5 step TRACK Process to working on your child’s behaviour

  • Change your thinking to reduce emotional distress

Week Three - The Mindset Game Changer

Week Three becomes a game changer.   You will apply your newfound positive thinking skills and mindfulness skills to ANY situation that will keep you solution focussed and out of overwhelm.

In this module you'll learn:

  • In the moment exercises to train yourself to find your calm.

  • Learn the Three Steps to Acceptance of Chaos
  • Learn how to stop anxiety around the future of your child’s life.

  • How to stop anger and guilt in their tracks.

Week Four - Getting Focussed on Change

When you know what you don't want, you know what you do want.  Trouble is, we keep focussing more on what we don't want, and don't get clear on setting  clear and realistic goals.

In this module you'll learn:

  • What is your child’s behaviour communicating?

  • Learn how to get curious about the real motivations driving your child’s behaviour

  • Get clear on the specific goal you’re going to work towards to get you out of survival mode (emotions of stress).

  • Become mindful of any agendas or fears that might be behind why you’re working to change your child’s behaviour – is it for them or is it to change them unnecessarily?

Week Five - Behaviour Management Strategies Part A

While this module is not designed to replace your child's OT, or behaviour support therapist, this week is about de-personalising your child's behaviour and getting curious about it instead.

In this module you'll learn:

  • Common Behaviours associated with Autism and which need to be targeted for change to help your child function in life.

  • How to create the right environment to support your Autistic Child – emotional and physical environment

  • To recognise existing dynamics that could be contributing to your child’s behaviour

  • To know the difference between accommodating for your child’s needs and giving into their demands

Week Six - Behaviour Management Strategies Part B

Carrying on from the week before, you will continue to learn strategies to understand your child's behaviour, help your teach your child emotional regulation, mindfulness to calm down, life skills and a healthy mindset for life.

In this module, you'll also learn:

  • How to handle aggressive behaviours.

  • The difference between a tantrum and a meltdown.

  • Helping your autistic child to handle anxiety.

  • Learn how to teach all your children a healthy mindset and positive self-worth they will adopt for life.

  • Knowing when to use rewards, punishment, give choices, when to be flexible and when/how to be consistent.

Week Seven - What about the rest of my family?

This week we specifically look at the other relationships that are going on in the family.

In this module, you'll learn:

  • How to alleviate guilt and pressure related to raising your other non-autistic children.

  • How to deal with Sibling Rivalry

  • What to do when your partner is not on the same page as you.

  • How to take care of your marital relationship during challenging times.
  • To understand how men and women think and how the way we each communicate can cause unnecessary problems in a relationship

Week Eight - Mindfulness, Time Management and Keeping It all Together

This final week will bring you tools to stay present in each moment, manage your time so you can fit in everything you need to and want to do without stress and give you some final pointers on how you can bring everything together that you have learnt over the last 8 weeks.

In this module, you'll learn:

  • Mindfulness tools to keep you present and in the moment (instead of focussing on past ‘failures’ and future worries that haven’t happened yet).

  • How to manage your time effectively to include everything you want to do and everything you need to do.
  • Final lessons on how to deal with the continual highs and lows of life and not losing your identity within it all.

Here’s what another mum, Michelle, had to say about The Parental Stress Centre

Michelle Flanigan

Mother of Three (one with ASD2)

"My child's meltdowns kept triggering my own meltdowns."

I joined the Parental Stress Centre after my child's meltdowns kept triggering my own meltdowns!

I felt overwhelmed and angry so much of the time and I didn't know what to do anymore!

2 years later my daughter was diagnosed with ASD and it much made sense.

I was so grateful to have the tools I learnt from Jackie to help me help her to understand the reactions her behaviour was triggering in me and help me to cope better when life was not going to plan!!

Jackie's support and easy to understand and apply techniques helped me so much, and I highly recommend The Parental Stress Centre to all families!

About The Course Teacher,
Jackie Hall

Jackie Hall is a qualified counsellor and mental health therapist with 15 years of experience working with parents and non-parents.

Jackie has extensive experience with adult and child mental health.  She has worked with clients (parents and non-parts) who have experienced Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Drug/Alcohol Addiction, Bipolar, Borderline Personality Disorders and Eating Disorders.

Jackie has a Dip. Counselling, with specialised evidence based skills in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Mindfulness, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training for Challenging child behaviours, DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy), Solution-Focussed Therapy, Trauma-informed approaches,  EMDR (for PTSD, Anxiety and Depression);  as well as almost completing Cert IV in Youth Work.

Over the last decade and a half, Jackie has personally created 15 online parenting programs and authored five books, teaching parents how to alleviate their stress, as well as delivered 1,000s of online and offline seminars and webinars to over 20,000 parents worldwide.

During this time, Jackie has worked with many parents of children with ASD, ODD, ADHD and other neurological disorders and well as typical parents,  helping them to manage their own emotions and the stress that comes with raising neurotypical and atypical kids or children with special needs.

Jackie has also spent some time working in Residential Youth Care where she had front line experience working with children with ASD, ODD, ADHD and aggressive behavioural challenges.

In addition, Jackie has undergone evidence-based behaviour therapist training so she could further understand the fundamentals of mainstream evidence-based approaches used to assist with behaviour management in Autistic Children.

That said, Jackie prefers holistic approaches that are person-centred and allows for flexibility, and focuses on the individual child's needs and developmental uniqueness.

She does not believe in 'fixing' children, as they are not broken.  Jackie aims to work with parents on what they feel the child needs to learn to function better within life, so her approaches will never interfere with beliefs about what behaviours do and don't need to be addressed.

Jackie's approach to helping parents of autistic children is heavily focussed on working with parents and alleviating their stress as a primary goal, and working on behaviour management together, as a secondary goal.

With Jackie, you will get non-judgemental, realistic and solution-focussed approaches backed by science-backed, evidence based psychological approaches.

Here’s what people are saying about Jackie Hall

& The PSC (Parental Stress Centre)

Amanda Bain

Mother of two

From the very first session I was able to make positive changes in our family.

Before I found PSC I was lost in my parenting and was becoming more frustrated with myself that having children hadn't turned out like I had planned.

From the very first session I was able to make positive changes in our family. We no longer yelled, no longer arguing with children and the ways to deal with difficult situations that came up made me enjoy being a Mum again.

From my first course I was hooked and have now completed all courses. I feel confident in my parenting style after completing these courses allowing us to work together for a healthy, happy and loving family.

Amber Purtell

Jackie has a way of teaching skills that makes sense and is so practical

I recommend all families to get among the various programs available as we all have room for improvement in one way or another, and Jackie has a way of teaching skills that make sense and are so practical. I am a much happier and more confident parent and person after being a part of Jackie's programs.

Kylie Mate

Jackie Hall and the Parental Stress Centre have been such a blessing to me and changed my life.

Jackie Hall and the Parental Stress Centre have been such a blessing to me and changed my life. Her programs are relevant, the support is amazing not only through the courses but afterwards also. She genuinely cares about the people enrolled and her passion is contagious. I'm so grateful for Jackie Hall and the Parental Stress Centre. I think everyone could learn something from Jackie and what she's teaching. Thank you Jackie for helping me to change my life.

How Many $$$ Would It Cost To Have A

Professional Counsellor Available To Support

You For The ENTIRETY Of Your Parenting Experience?!

Now, let's run some numbers on how much it would typically cost if you were to receive support from a counsellor.

If you just visited a typical counsellor who say, charged $85 per hour (many can charge upto $180 per hour, but we're going to run these numbers conservatively).

In these sessions you aren't doing any sort of structured program alongside those visits.
It's just straight one-on-one sessions.

And let's say you visited that counsellor once a week for 5 years.

Of course we know your children are going to be around for a lot longer than that, but let's stay on the conservative side of these scenarios.

That's $85 per week x 52 weeks x 5 years = $22, 100

And what happens when you're seeing a counsellor one day a week?

You go there, talk about your problems, maybe get a solution or two, and then you are left to fend for yourself for the next 6 days and 23 hours, giving you plenty of time to send you straight back to the same thinking, emotions and behaviours you're wanting to change.

THEN you have to wait until your next week's session to discuss other problems only to go through the same process.

Now, what if instead, you had that counsellor available to you 7 days a week to discuss anything that comes up for you and get support. How much would that cost?

Let's run some numbers again...

Let's say your counsellor gives you a package of 10 x 30minute email support sessions per month and you do that for 2 years.

That's $85/2 = $42.50 x 10 sessions x 12 months = $5,100.00 per year
x 2 years = $10,200

Or let's say that you have access to chat with your counsellor through a live webinar once a fortnight plus you have access to a Facebook support group where you can chat to your counsellor whenever you want, 7 days a week.

Let's be conservative again, and imagine you only utilise the webinar once a month and the Facebook group 3 times a week for 15 minutes and you do this for 4 years.

That's $85 per webinar x 12 months per year x 4 years = $4,080
$85 x 0.25 mins on Facebook x 3 times a week x 52 weeks x 4 years = $13,260.

Total fee would be $17,340

Or let's get really conservative and say that for the first year, you are super keen and heavily relying on your counsellor through the live webinar and Facebook group.

You're reaching out 3 times a week and attending at least one of the two webinars per month and receiving the benefit of the advice you are given.

But then after that year, you might reach out once every two months and maybe attend only 4 webinars per year, but you do this for the next 5 years. Let's see what that looks like:

First year - $85/hr x 0.25 mins x 3 times a week x 52 weeks for one year = $3,315
First Year - $85 x 1 hourly webinar per month x 12 months (1 year) = $1020.00
For next 5 years - ($85/hr x 0.25 mins x 6 times a year ) = $127.50
For Next 5 years - $85 x 4 x 1 hr webinars per year x 5 years = $1,700.00

Total over 6 years = $6,162.50

All we've done here is added up the time it costs to have your counsellor at your beck and call 7 days a week (and been quite conservative about the hourly fee too - many counsellor charge much more than $85 p/hour).

We've missed out some very important cost factors of our offer.

  • You have access to an 8 Week Online Program specifically for ASD parents, all while you're getting unlimited counselling support
  • You have access to 15 additional parenting programs teaching you about many different aspects of creating a harmonious parenting experience, all while you're getting unlimited counselling support.
  • You have access to ANY new live or self-paced online programs we create for the entirety of your parenting career, all while you're getting unlimited counselling support.
  • You're getting access to all 5 of Jackie Hall's ebooks.

  • And we have used conservative numbers here. In reality, you have NO limit as to how many times you access support through our closed Facebook group, email support or how many webinars you attend.

The pricing in these 4 scenarios came to $22,100 or $10,200, or $17,340 or $6,162.50 WITHOUT any programs.

In fact, your fee is just a one off $1495 for unlimited support forever (with payment plan options available)

And, you become part of a supportive family of parents who are all walking the same talk, following the methods taught by the PSC.  You won't be left for 6 days and 23 hours with no support in between sessions.  We're with you all the time!

No more judgement, misunderstandings or only focussing on problems either. You're in a family that's uplifting, motivating and helpful whenever you want or need them.

So What Are You Waiting For?  Don't Spend Another Minute In Emotional Overwhelm When There's So Much Knowledge & Support Waiting For You That Can Change Yours & Your Child's Life!!  Join NOW.
